The latest results from our laboratories on the R&D activities of the primary particles of detonation diamond PPDND) will be briefly introduced, which include determination of an average diameter of PPDND to be 2.8(5)nm and geometrical as well as electronic structure of unique core-shell composition. Three major applications that are being developed by us including nanospacer lubricants, nano-composites and drug carrier for cancer themotherapy will be mentioned in some detail. PPDND appears to be a prototype of nanocarbons like C60 and CNT appeared recently and under active exploitation.
